Weymouth Through Time - New Book Coming Soon - Update

A new book of Weymouth's history called "Weymouth Through Time" will be available soon. Written and compiled by yours truly teamed up with excellent local photographers, Mike and Keith of GraphicPhoto-Arts, who came to the rescue when the original photographer walked out on the project with less than two weeks to go to the contract deadline of 31st October 2008.

The book contains 180 pictures old and new with the local history covering Weymouth and its local villages. It will be available through this website in due course and can be signed for you. It would make a great Christmas present for all those who love Weymouth's history.

Southill Fireworks to go ahead as planned!

Great News! The excellent Southill Fireworks display IS to go ahead this year as planned. You may have read in the Echo of the difficulties faced by the organiser, Jon Gabb, of raising sponsorship money in order to provide the fireworks. Despite the difficulties, the display is to go ahead, though of course, further sponsorship is always welcome. So, if any businesses out there would like to help, please get in touch. I will happily mention you on here too.

The grand display is to be held as usual in Radipole Lane, Southill, by the shops on 8th November 2008 at 7pm. The car park will be closed throughout the duration and for a time before and after.

If you have never been to Southill Fireworks before, you don't know what you're missing! Come along and find out. This is the 12th year and I can tell you that every year it has been truly excellent and goes on getting better. In fact, I think it is better than any other firework display in the area!
