Flood Warning: Weymouth Harbour, Town; Preston Beach; Chiswell, Portland
The Met Office have issued a severe weather warning for the Southwest for Monday with gale force winds up to 80mph. The Environment Agency has issued Flood Warnings (still in force as of 5:38pm Monday) for the following:
Weymouth Harbour and Town (given the All Clear at 7:39pm Monday 10th)
Preston Beach [Road]
Chiswell, Portland

Weymouth Harbour has just been on the local news with pictures of the road flooded on the Melcombe side leading into Commercial Road.
About 12 noon we had such strong winds that the rain and hail was going horizontally. We also had a few rumbles of thunder.
Heavy rain is forecast for later today and could swell the spring tide expected at 8.50pm.
Visits to this blog today have well exceeded usual numbers, so I say to all, wherever you may be, take care and stay safe.
All areas mentioned in original post are still on Flood Warning as at 17.38 Monday

According to the Environment Agency, Weymouth Harbour and Town was given the All Clear at 7:39pm tonight, but Flood Warnings remain for Preston Beach and Chiswell, Portland.
Just four Flood Warnings still in force in the Southwest at 9am this morning (Tuesday), three of which are in Dorset:
Preston Beach
Chiswell, Portland
West Bay
High Tide: Tuesday 11th March 9.05am at Weymouth
